Whitianga New Years Sailing Race

Hosted by the Mercury Bay Boating Club each year.  Please contact the Boating Club for more details - this is an open event.

The Mercury Bay Boating Club extends a warm invitation to all sailors to join our traditional New Year's Day race.  this is a low key enjoyable event, for all keelers, trailer sailors, Hobie Cats and other boats capable of sailing to the farm reaches of Mercury Bay.  This is a great way to start the New Year in a relaxed manner. 
  • Start on the line, 12 noon.
  • Entries accepted by the control tower up to 15 minutes before the start time on channel #77
  • Skipppers' briefing at the clubhouse 10am on the day of the event
  • Entry $10
  • After event BBQ  4pm and refreshments at the clubhouse after racing, BYO.
