Mercury Bay Business Association

The Mercury Bay Business Association (MBBA) represents the business community across the Mercury Bay area from the Tairua Hill north to Whangapoua.  The Association is made up of 200+ members from a wide variety of business sectors such as retail, accommodation, hospitality, tourism operators, trades and local clubs and services.

Our vision is to develop Mercury Bay as the Coromandel Peninsula location of choice for investment, business, customers, employees, visitors and our local residents.

Our mission is to create the environment where members of the MBBA can be the best at what they do.

Our purpose is to promote, support, develop and represent the interests of the local business community as it grows.

Our Way Forward 2012-2014

In April 12 we developed a Business Plan which identifies our vision and purpose, backed by an action plan which highlights areas of improvement for our Association.  The MBBA Committee reviews the plan 6 monthly – with flexibility to change as our environment changes.  You can view our plan here

Many of our members have commented that being part of the Association allows them to make new contacts, find potential clients, develop their knowledge and build skills.  Here’s what some of them have to say …

“Functions that I have attended have been great and being fairly new to the area, it is good to meet people ” – Debbie Holmes, Whitianga Bed & Breakfast

“It’s an opportunity for sharing thoughts on improving what we can offer”

- John Donelley, Mercury Bay Estate

“Always great to catch up with fellow business operators and find out what is going on in our area”

- Linda, Dive Zone
