Catch Charters operates a 10.2 metre (33ft) Senator mono hull called Grey Ghost which is based in the Whitianga Marina. Owner/Skipper Garry Buchanan runs a friendly, efficent operation under Safe Ship Management visiting all the top fishing and diving spots around the Mercury Islands.  Full day, or half day trips are structured to suit your requirements, enabling you to maximise your day of pleasure.  Garry and partner Lee also manage Peninsula Motel and can offer packages for Fishing, diving and accommodation.

Scuba Diving at Cathedral Cove,

Take the PLUNGE for the first time and experience the wonderful underwater world in the Cathedral Cove Marine Reserve. This is the PERFECT experience for those who have never scuba-dived before. Get up close and personal with the massive crayfish, huge snapper and friendly fish. Just allow 3 hours for the learning and the scuba dive! 
Situated at the base of Cathedral Cove and only 5 minutes from Hot Water Beach, Hahei is the perfect spot for all divers and snorkellers. With the Te Whanganui-A-Hei Marine Reserve and the awesome pinnacles and volcanic coastline only 5-10 minutes by boat, certified divers can book on our specialised dive boat, either the 9.30am trip, back by midday, or the 1.30pm trip, back by 4pm.

Quality PADI Dive Courses, from Beginners Open Water and Refresher to Divemaster – small personalised groups. Snorkellers welcome on the boat trips, or call into our store in Hahei and, for a small price, hire your snorkel gear, before taking the 5-10 minute walk into the Snorkel Trail at Gemstone Bay, on the way to Cathedral Cove. Our store on Hahei Beach Road offers rental snorkel gear, hire bikes, fishing rods, boogie boards, SCUBA gear, full sales, service, air fills, cylinder tests, LPG, bait.

Watch the awesome marine life up close through the glass bottom or dive in and snorkel the pristine marine reserve with all equipment supplied at no extra charge.

Take in the magic of dolphins, penguins and fur seals when they take time out of their busy schedules to visit us in the bay.
